Dan G. Danner, Doctor of Veterinary medicine, first established his practice as Center
71 Animal Hospital in 1981. Conceding to expansion, Center 71 Animal Hospital
relocated in 1987 to its present location and opened as Animal Medical and
Surgical Hospital. That same year, "Veterinary Economics Magazine" and the American Animal Hospital Association selected AMSH from 20,000 candidates as their Hospital of the Year Award first runner-up, displaying the most innovative and functionally designed facility in the nation. Oklahoma Magazine readers chose AMSH as one of the top 3 veterinary hospitals in Northeast Oklahoma in the "Best of the Best" Awards July 2005, one of the top 2 in 2006, and number 2 in 2007.
