Kristie Plunkett, DVM, calls Tulsa her hometown. Her initial love of animals was realized at an early age when her father would make her empty her pockets of backyard critters before coming into the house. She currently owns 3 cats, 3 dogs, 2 ferret, 2 chickens, 1 rooster, and a newly acquired guinea pig. Since the age of 15, she has worked in various capacities at veterinary clinics.
Dr. Plunkett attended Oklahoma State University three years before being accepted at Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine. While there she was involved in many organizations including Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association (SCAVMA). While serving as a chair on the Public Service Committee of SCAVMA, she organized a dissection demonstration with Highland Park Elementary School’s 5th grade classes. Dr. Plunkett did a preceptorship in Colorado that sparked her interest in dentistry. She also has special interests in feline medicine, pocket pets and ophthalmology. Her passion for learning and compassion for companion animals keeps Animal Medical & Surgical Hospital on the cusp of new treatments and procedures.
