Dr. Dan Danner
Dan G. Danner, DVM, BS
Dr. Danner is the new President of the Oklahoma State Board. On June 1, 2003, Governor Brad Henry appointed Dr. Danner to the Oklahoma State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. This honor is given to only 5 veterinarians from the different state regions of Oklahoma. Each appointment is for a five year term. This board oversees the quality of veterinarians and veterinary medicine for the citizens of Oklahoma. He has been active for many years in the Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association, one of the main events being the Animal Birthing and Surgical Center at the Tulsa State Fair. He actually designed the surgery suite the OVMA uses today funded by the John Zink Foundation! He is also quite active on the State Fair Ringmaster's Organization raising money for high school   4-H and FFA students helping to raise over $498,000 in scholarships for many of those showing livestock at the Tulsa State Fair. Many of these fine individuals come from all over the state of Oklahoma!
Dr. Danner completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1975 and graduated from the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. He completed his internship with the Oklahoma City Zoo and served as Associate Veterinarian for Lion Country Safari in Dallas, Texas, for three and a half years. He then returned to Tulsa to establish a top-notch veterinary practice. It was with this idea that Animal Medical and Surgical Hospital came into being. Over the years, many Tulsans have grown to trust Dr. Danner with their family pet care needs. Many of the area veterinary clinics refer orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries to him due to his ongoing interests and expertise. His concern for your pet is and always has been the foundation for AMSH.
While keeping abreast on current methods and techniques for cats and dogs, Dr. Danner also has an extensive background in exotic animal care. His ongoing devotion and dedication to veterinary medicine has earned him the ability to dominate as a leader in the field of exotic animals. Treatment methods with these animals are one of the many facets to the foundation of Animal Medical and Surgical Hospital. He is actively helping over 300 primates in a five state area. He is the veterinarian for Safari's Animal Sanctuary and other exotic parks throughout Oklahoma.
